Orec America first opened in the US in the spring of 2010. However our parent company, Orec Japan, was first established in 1948. In the more than 60 years that Orec has been in business, it has become well known for its innovative and durable outdoor power equipment. Below are just a few of the reasons that Orec has become the standard for quality and ingenuity in the outdoor power equipment market.

Walk behind cultivator
The first twenty years saw a flurry of new products that helped established Orec (then called Ohashi Agri Machine Works) as a provider of unique power equipment to small farmers and property owners. In 1949, we introduced the vertical pump to the Japanese market. In 1957, we introduced a walk behind cultivator to small farmers in Japan. Ten years later we introduced Japan’s first walk behind transporter.
The success of these products helped Ohashi to expand both domestically and internationally during this time. Its success allowed us to expand our factory. Soon thereafter we began to export to other areas of Asia.

In 1980, we began to export to Korea and Taiwan. 1980 was a big year for us, as we also introduced the walk behind flail mower. We began to export to Europe in 1982 and in 1988 we changed our name from Ohashi Agri Machine to Orec Co., Ltd. Four years later we introduced the world’s first ride-on brush mower. Then in 2001, we introduced the “Spider Mower,” a specialty steep slope mower that can cut tall grass on slopes of up to 50 degrees.

Now in 2013, we are in the US and we sincerely hope to get to know our customers here so that we can provide the same great service and the innovation that we have built our reputation on.
